Yippee, half term is here and it’s the perfect opportunity to take time out, spend quality time with friends and family, re-discover yourself and beautiful West Wales.
Unless you are working that is, which also brings benefits like no school runs meaning more time at home. Plus, more smiles around the place in general, as the majority of parents can at last, jump off the treadmill and…chill.
Over the holidays, Life Seeker will continue to develop as a positive lifestyle hub covering Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion and by Summer, we look forward to introducing you to more providers, eager to share how they can help you live a happier and healthier existence.
Meanwhile, it’s Half Term and WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT’S ON IN WEST WALES NOW! So we’ve pulled together some of the activities on offer from our friends to inspire you:
Explore Denmark Farm in Ceredigion
Denmark Farm is a 40 acre nature reserve just 4 miles from Lampeter in Ceredigion. They are open from dawn to dusk every day and ask only for donations to have a look around. The self-guided trails take you through a variety of habitats, and allow you to experience an amazing array of wildlife around the site. Visit the roundhouse shelter in the woods, or one of the beautiful wooden structures such as the lakeside shelter, or garden pergola.
Also referred to as ‘laughter yoga’, this much talked about activity involves a unique exercise which combines unconditional laughter with yoga breathing (no yoga postures as many assume). Laughter is initially stimulated as a physical exercise while maintaining eye contact with others in the group and promoting childlike playfulness. In most cases, this leads to real contagious laughter, which is quite simply, HILARIOUS. Life Seeker is hosting the next Workshop on Sat 25th Feb at 11.30am from Hilton Court Gardens & Crafts. Read more about it and book online here.
‘Cleanse and Detox’ Yoga in Haverfordwest
Debi Mason is running a Hatha yoga class on Wed 23rd Feb from 6 – 7pm at the Picton Centre in Haverfordwest. The class is suitable for all levels and focuses on a ‘cleanse and detox’ theme to improve digestion. It is a drop in class, so no need to book, mats provided if needed. Cost per person is £6.
Walk, Shop and Dine at Hilton Court Gardens & Crafts
Hilton Court’s ponds and woodlands are a hidden gem in St. Brides bay, nestled at the top of Nolton valley, featuring a series of tiered ponds surrounded by luscious woodland. With meandering paths exploring all corners of the beautiful 8 acres, each time you return you’ll find something new. During Half Term, the gardens will be open for you to enjoy (wellies recommended). And in addition, you can dine at the Gardeners Restaurant or shop at the resident pottery studio/gallery and photography gallery.

Random Acts of Kindness
Last week has been officially named ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’ – a global movement with a simple objective to inspire the world to be kinder for just one week. Their website suggests simple acts of kindness that anyone can put into place such as; call a loved one, post a positive note somewhere, open the door for someone, give someone a hug. We suggest you try extending these Acts of Kindness into Half Term week and see what kind of response you get. And if that goes well, do it again the next week, and then the next…
We hope some of the above has inspired you to spring into action, get outside and try new things.
Have a great Half Term in West Wales and remember to…
Play Smart. Live Well.
