Elderly residents in Yorkshire are enjoying realistic train rides and authentic views from inside the walls of a Bradford care home.

The staff team managing the home noticed that train rides were a popular topic of conversation when residents reminisce and as the majority of them are unable to get outside, they decided to bring the train experience to them.

The train carriage built over 3 months within the walls of the nursing home provides comfortable seating for residents to enjoy refreshments together, whilst enjoying views of passing landscapes, played on a flat screen TV disguised as a train window.

This fully accessible virtual experience has brought smiles to the residents and an additional place to spend time during their time in the home. The new train ride is soon to host a couple celebrating their 60^th wedding anniversary.  What a fantastic way for our older generations to benefit from new technology.
