Meet Karen and Jeanette
Karen and Jeanette are two adventure-loving ladies enjoying their freedom as Pembrokeshire retirees. Jeanette committed her entire career to managing children's social services. Karen worked as a PE teacher and pastoral year head for 20 years and spent 10 years running a garden design & maintenance business in South East Wales.
Their lust for life is infectious. They find fun and positivity in everything they do. They believe age is just a number. Follow their activities and discoveries around west Wales (and further afield) and where possible, start filling your own diary with adventures.
The one bonus about the lockdown has been the weather! We’re blessed with a garden so we’ve been giving it our undivided attention. All our homemade patio furniture has had a lick of paint It’s amazing what you can do with an old sofa or a pallet!

We’ve got our spuds into our veg patch and with broad beans, peas, mangetout and runner beans, we should be eating healthy by the summer!

After all the digging, weeding, mowing and painting we try to utilise our lawn for a bit of fun and sport. A handy tree makes one post for our badminton, tennis and volleyball net! The ground is nice and firm so we’re giving tennis a bash. Charlie our dog is a brilliant ball girl. Nothing is Wimbledon standard but it’s fun!!

Daily exercise is an hour on the bike or the dog walk and it’s a real joy to walk or cycle on these quiet lanes…another perk of lockdown! We like to try and go somewhere where we can see water.

We’re not roving too far these days but there is still so much to see and enjoy out from the house. In quiet moments I’ve knocked up a face mask from Tubigrip, it’s not pretty but it’s practical!

Looking forward to getting back to normal roving in the coming months but who knows! Staying safe is the main thing!
