Tell us about you, your business and where you operate in West Wales?
My name is Lise and I own The Ark health food shop and natural health practise, situated in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
What products and services do you provide and how can Seekers access them?
The Ark is the local independent health hub. The health food shop offers a wide variety of healthy foods, special diet ingredients, supplements, free from household items and beauty products that are good for you and the environment. You will also find a selection of home brewing equipment. Our natural health clinic includes many practitioners of health and wellbeing, offering 1-to-1 sessions and smaller classes. To mention a few there’s acupuncture, McTimoney chiropractic, hypnotherapy, massage, allergy testing, Bowen Technique, reiki, colonic hydrotherapy, osteopathy, etc.
How can Seekers benefit from what you do?
- You are able to shop for foods and supplements for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
- You can get treatment for your health and wellbeing.
- You will feel better when you eat right, when you are not in pain and when your nutrient levels are optimal.
What do you love about the work you do?
It is so rewarding when people report back that they feel so much better when following our advice or after a treatment. I love educating people to make them aware of the possibilities for health and wellbeing and how you don’t have to suffer unnecessarily.
How did you end up in your vocation?
I originate from Denmark and bring with me healthy Scandinavian eating and living habits. I have practiced in Wales since 2002 as a Bowen Technique practitioner and offering health MOTs & intolerance testing. In 2011 I took over as the owner of the health food shop and clinic. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength with many more people interested in a long and healthy, pain-free life.
