Can y Coed: A unique symphony from the ancient rainforests of Wales

Sound artist Cheryl Beer, who we featured in Issue 13 of Life Seeker Newspaper for her work in bringing nature walks into care homes during lockdown, is launching her unique Can y Coed symphony at the National Botanical Gardens this Summer.

Cheryl Beer has spent a year ecploring Wales’s ancient rainforests, using specialist sound equipment to listen to the rhythms within the trees, ferns and moss. Converting these biorhythms into music, Cheryl has created a symphony that not only helps people connect with nature on a new level, but also highlights the importance of preserving these vital environments. You can even visit the trees that took part, and a Sound Walk will be installed at Coed Felenrhyd rainforest.
