As part of their ongoing work to support veterans and the wider community with their mental health, the VC Gallery hosts a weekly breakfast club with an open invite to anyone who feels they’d like to start the day with some good nutrition and banter.
Barry John, veteran and founder of the VC Gallery explains,
“We know having breakfast is important for physical health but it is also very important for mental health. Complex mental health conditions can see people issued with up to 8 different medications. Having breakfast is important for many reasons but taking some meds on an empty stomach can do further damage.
We welcome you to join us between 09.30 and 11 Friday’s every week even if it’s just for a coffee.”
The team encourage support from the community by inviting donations of breakfast items whenever possible (Scott Gregory from the Green Shed Cafe recently donated smoked salmon, cheese, breads, grapes, peppers and tomatoes which were greatly received).
