reconnect nature connection course - Pembrokeshire

Mental health educators share the importance of connecting with nature

Community Interest Company Reconnect  have been sharing their knowledge with the West Wales community about an important link between spending time in nature and the physical benefits on our mental health.

The team have delivered courses throughout Pembrokeshire for individuals  interested in learning more about this connection, plus ‘train the trainer’ courses designed to empower, nurture and train a group of volunteers to become accredited nature connection activity leaders.

Participants undertake the course in the natural environment and learn about subjects such as the theory of wellbeing, peer support, art in nature, stigma, social inclusion and self-acceptance. They also develop practical skills such as basic survival, shelter building, mindfulness and woodland management.

Inviting the community to experience the ‘real world’ is not only crucial to nurture our personal wellbeing, but for our environmental awareness as a society so we continue to stay connected with reality.

Thank you Reconnect for making such a powerful impact on our community.
