Make memories with the Megan Starr Foundation

The Megan Starr Foundation have launched their make a memory keepsake craft classes and all are welcome.

The idea behind the craft classes is to create a memory keepsake of a loved one using something that belonged to them. This may be an old jumper or anything that can be added to the crafted item to make that memory long lasting. No sewing skills needed! Seamstresses will be lending their skills to help with the project.

The craft classes are part of the foundation’s intergenerational project and will focus on making a memory keepsake cushion, encouraging old and young to come together. There is also the option to request a keepsake cushion to be made for you or someone else.

Organisers say:

“The cushions make such a powerful and moving impact and can also be used for people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other debilitating illnesses.  The collage of different garments can help with memory recall, and comfort loved ones in times of need”.
