Ffion from Furnace, keeping Carmarthenshire positive through lockdown!

Entertaining everyone from locals to international film star Michael Sheen, Carmarthenshire’s ‘Ffion from Furnace’ has kept a smile on people’s faces throughout lockdown.

Fast becoming a local legend in South Wales thanks to the hilarious and uplifting videos she posts online, the local actress is still coming up with quirky sketches and even quirkier outfits to cheer everyone up. Ffion has popped up in Facebook feeds everywhere dressed as Biggles, a nun, a cowboy, a wild strawberry – the costumes are both amazing and endless. She’s even started a catch phrase with her regular lockdown sign off: “Remember, cwtch in and have a drink.”

As important as Ffion’s comedy turns have been for keeping people’s spirits up, they double as useful public service announcements for the local community; Ffion the Minion effortlessly demonstrates how to safely navigate a supermarket. Dick Turpin keeps everyone informed of the new safety rules on buses. Even Cinderella gets in on things to explain why she has foregone the ball to save lives and save the NHS.

With her witty and creative take on everything that’s happened over recent months, Ffion has certainly found a more interesting way to get the point across. (After all, who isn’t going to listen when a wild strawberry tells you to stay at home?)

So, next time you’re feeling a bit low or want to find out what the new lockdown rules are in Carmarthenshire, you’ll find Ffion on the Furnace Life Facebook page or her YouTube channel.

Once you’ve done that you can always cwtch in and have a drink.
