Age Cymru Dyfed Volunteers

Age Cymru Dyfed need Befriending Volunteers!

Age Cymru Dyfed are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their Befriending Life Links initiative in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. The new scheme aims to provide support and improve wellbeing for people over 50 who feel isolated.

Age Cymru Dyfed Development Officer Marie Oak explains:

“We’re looking for friendly volunteers who can help others build up their confidence, get back out into the community and integrate more. Unfortunately, lockdown has meant we’ve only been able to provide telephone befriending in recent months, but as restrictions ease we’ll be safely introducing wider services across West Wales. This includes home visits, as well as providing people with company on trips out or helping them join in with social activities in the community.”

The Age Cymru Dyfed team ensures that befrienders and befriendees are carefully matched based on their interests and location. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn new skills through training and meet up with one another socially to share their experiences.

If you’d like to get involved, help others and make new friends, contact your local Befriending Life Links Coordinator:
