Community to vote for those who have gone Above and Beyond

The Connect programme which has created and administers the three West Wales Connect platforms is pleased to announce the Above and Beyond Awards, recognising charities and community groups in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.

Throughout the pandemic, we have heard amazing stories of organisations supporting their members and communities by delivering services in different ways, changing the way they meet and interact with citizens and innovating to support those in need. To celebrate these wonderful groups, we’re offering 4 charities or community organisations in each county the chance to win £500.

To be in with a chance of winning the £500 prize, groups must first be nominated; to nominate your favourite charity or community group, send an email to lee.hind@pavs.org.uk with ‘Above and Beyond’ in the subject line. Tell us which county you’re from, the group you’d like to nominate and a maximum of 50 words about how they’ve gone above and beyond. Nominations close on Friday 17th September.

Voting for each county will be on the local Connect platformswww.connectpembrokeshire.org.uk; www.connectcarmarthenshire.org.uk; www.connectceredigion.org.uk – visit your county platform today and see the great features we’ve built. Watch out for the voting to start on Monday 20th September.

Lee Hind, from PAVS said,

“I’m delighted that the Connect programme is able to facilitate the Above and Beyond Awards for the amazing community groups across our region. I hope we see lots of nominations and votes coming in. These awards will complement the Volunteer Awards, also run by PAVS; we look forward to celebrating the contribution of the voluntary and community sector across the board”

If you have questions or need more details, there’s an information page on each Connect platform. If your query isn’t answered, please email lee.hind@pavs.org.uk
